Gold Mexican 20 Peso History:

The Mexico Viente Pesos were issued from 1917-1959 and produced at Mexico City Mint.  The 20 Pesos gold coins have a very detailed and intricate design making them very appealing to collectors. The Mexico 20 Peso is the only coin to depict the modern coat of arms on the Reverse side (where the eagle is facing sideways and not forward as with other peso coins).  This coin in considered an “insider” coin due to its recognition and its price moving directly with price of gold.  The small amount of copper in this coin allows for surface to stay free of marks and it is easier to handle.  This coin is a popular restrike in new condition.  The 1959 restrike offered incused edging which is a great anti-counterfeiting technique.
