The Egyptian Relic Series King Tut Coin celebrates the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty in Egypt. He had an extremely short reign as pharaoh, lasting just 9 years in total from the ages of 10 to 19.

He is best known for the 1922 discovery of his immaculate tomb by British archaeologist Howard Carter.  King Tut's solid gold coffin was completely intact, with his mummified remains inside.

Reverse - The designs on the reverse side of the 2016 5 oz Republic of Chad Egyptian Relic Series King Tut Coin are inspired by actual hieroglyphics depicting King Tut. The only engravings on the obverse feature a right-profile image of the Boy King himself, with very distinct design features and rough finish giving the appearance of ancient coins that were in circulation and use thousands of years ago.

Obverse - Image of the National Crest of Republic of Chad, which was a landlocked country bordering 6 other nations in Africa, also having incuse designs with engravings identifying the nation of issue, year of issue and face value of coin.
